About Us

While their business has quickly expanded to over twenty five retail locations and an online store that ships to customers all over the country, Chapel Hill Toffee is still lovingly handcrafted in small batches by mother and son right in the place that it began, Mom's kitchen.

Mom's homemade toffee was always a special treat for Mark Graves and his brother, Scott, growing up in their home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Over twenty years later, that special treat has blossomed into a family business co-owned by Mark and his mother, Karen Graves. In 2006, after years of perfecting Karen's secret recipe, Chapel Hill Toffee made its retail debut at A Southern Season, a specialty foods market in the heart of Chapel Hill.

Chapel Hill Toffee begins by creating a thick layer of traditional English toffee that is then handcoated on both sides with a top-secret blend of dark chocolates. The smooth layers are finished off with the sprinkling of fresh pecans that gives Chapel Hill Toffee it's iconic look and distinctive southern twist!

We incorporate pecans throughout our toffee to give it a memorable nutty flavor. We also give our candy a light sprinkling of chopped pecans as the finishing touch that gives Chapel Hill Toffee it's iconic, mouthwatering look!

Our toffee is coated with a secret blend of dark chocolates formulated specifically for Chapel Hill Toffee. We think that this unique combination highlights the buttery sweetness of the toffee and is accented perfectly by the nutty flavor of the pecan finish.

Please allow five business days for us to process and complete your order. Our toffee is made after receiving your order to maintain the highest degree of freshness and quality. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout. We use UPS for all orders and offer three choices from October to May: UPS Ground, UPS 2nd Day Air and UPS Next Day Air. From June through September, we require UPS Next Day Air. Our toffee will melt and should be stored between 65-70 degrees. If you are shipping to a warm climate, we recommend UPS 2nd Day Air or UPS Next Day Air. If your toffee does not arrive in satisfactory condition, please contact us immediately.
